Has anyone read Miss Julie by August Strindberg or have some knowledge on the author?

I am aware of his mysogynistic views, but was wondering if he was also against the shifting statuses of people during the period in which it was written. Was he saddened by the upheaval of this "new" nobility (represented through Jean)?
