OK, so I wanted to have a discussion about the effects of bright summer sun on one's mood, mind and body, and then today the sun decided to shine so intensely that literally mere seconds of it cause burning in this Semite, who doesn't usually have a problem with sun.
What I was originally going to say in this thread is that bright sun causes me to experience crawling anxiety, a feeling of oppression, and a need to hide from it. I know there is such a thing as seasonal affective disorder, that usually refers to the effect of gloomy, cold, wintry weather on people's mood; but I now believe there are also people like me for whom the intense summer sun is a real problem. Obviously, the hemisphere one lives on is closer to the sun during that hemisphere's winter, increasing the brightness, heat and overall solar UV. Anyone else like this, and do you also like tea and practice for the Olympics ski jump competition?
