The new X-Files

I watched it this past week and have mixed feelings. About half of it was marvelous and fun, a combination of the best serious elements of the original and the best comedic elements, with plenty of self-aware but well-done pokes at themselves. The other half really disappointed me, as Chris Carter decided to use about three of the only six total episodes to pontificate and tell us how we should view certain of the "issues of the day," which, in addition to pissing me off generally, had about as much to do with the X-Files as my Aunt Fanny. Anyone else have and thoughts on the revived show? Oh, one more thing, if that redhead from the series Dig, the one who plays Agent Einstein, becomes the new Scully in a new series of X Files, I'm out because in addition to my having no interest in general, I admit that, as petty as it may sound to some, the various bumps on her face are so distracting I can't focus on her acting. Curious that out of all the pretty actresses out there who must have vied for that role, they chose one with a cosmetic feature that is so distracting.
