   Why 'cyclopedia' not 'encyclopaedia'?

   Found a wonderful 'cyclopedia', 5 books long, of characters in fiction. Why isn't it called the 'encyclopaedia of fiction characters' rather than 'cyclopedia of fiction characters'? Why use one term rather than the other?
