First time doing any sort of writing in quite a while so any help would be appreciated.
Something was wrong with the weather Amanda decided ,for it was unusual to have such snowy weather in spring, nonetheless she continued on through the icy forest hoping that she would soon find her destination. She continued in this way for a while until she finally strode into a large clearing that contained the inn she was looking for.Admiring the rugged construction she approached the warm haven in a hurry with her red cloak flapping in the wind. As she shook the ice from her clothes she looked around trying to see whether the innkeeper was here. After standing in an awkward manner for a time she heard a wary voice,
"Come out where I can see you lass , it's not often we get visitors at such a late hour".
After a moment's hesitation she stepped further forwards into the light cast by the lanterns and spoke,
"Isn't it rather rude not to introduce yourself first?"
Only the soft crackle of a fire answered her words, it's light showing her features for the first time. Deep chestnut eyes peeked out, hidden behind the scarf wrapped around her face, while her pale skin clashed against her straight dark brown hair. Amanda had long ago decided that she hated her hair. It was so different to the usual pale blond and blue eyes of her home region that lead to many whispers about her absent parents. Tearing her away from her throughts the voice echoed out again,
"I'm the inkeeper here. Now are you going show your face or are we going to stand here all night?"
Speaking these words a huge shadow of a man stepped into the light with a crossbow cradled in his arms. Amanda smiled upon seeing him and lifting her hands she pulled off the scarf and hood that she was wearing to reveal the face that dwelt beneath it. Seeing this seemed to satisify the man's wariness and he lowered the weapon in his hand and spoke,
"I'm the one who manages this place, the names Alex , what can I do for you?"
A small smile graced the lips of the girl as she spoke,
"Well I was told to come to this place and that a man called Alex would be able to help me.."
Amanda's voice was softer now as she said,
"And it seems to me that I have found him. So my question is; what can you do for me?"
What can you do for me?
